Hide ur Base and Steal Players & Controls

Input mastery, lobby roles, and habits for six-player steal servers.

Last updated:

Players Hub

The Players Hub covers the human side of Hide ur Base and Steal: how you move, how you interrupt, and how different lobby roles behave in a six-player server. Unlike hero-shooter wikis, there is no large character roster to unlock — you are the unit. Advantage comes from input fluency, prop knowledge, and reading other players’ paths.

Start with controls

Open Controls for keyboard, touch, and common interactions: placing or entering secret spots, buying pets, securing them in your base, TP-back after a steal, crawling through tight props, and hitting thieves so they drop your animals. Soft-lock windows after you secure a pet (players report roughly twenty seconds before you can move that pet again) also live there so you do not panic-click during the lock.

Master controls before you chase S-tier pets. Missed interrupts are how legendaries leave your church bench forever.

Lobby roles you will meet

Even without formal classes, public servers sort into patterns:

The Camper

Lives inside or beside their entrance. Great at hitting thieves, weak at growing through steals. Counter by baiting them away with noise on the opposite side of the map, then striking — covered in how to steal.

The Tourist

Runs every prop looking for glow or click prompts. Loud footsteps near playgrounds and rocks. Your best defense is a deep hiding spot plus willingness to relocate after they brush your prop twice.

The Investor

Ignores PvP, rolls pets during server luck spikes, and stacks income. Highest paper wealth, juiciest raid target if you find their door.

The Hit-and-Runner

Steals one mid pet, TP-backs, hides. Sustainable and annoying. Match their pace instead of overextending for their whole base.

The Griefer Swarm

Two friends trade intel on your entrance. Six-player caps mean a duo is already a third of the server. Hop servers if they camp you; ego is not income.

Habits of players who keep pets

  1. Entrance checks on a timer. Peek the approach path every time you return from shop.
  2. Pet priority layout. Best income deepest; bait commons near the door — see protect your base.
  3. No celebration emotes at the door. Emoting advertises the prop.
  4. Luck-aware shopping. Buy during doubles, steal when others are shopping.
  5. Clean TP discipline. Arrive home facing the exit so you can swing immediately.

Social rules that save runs

  • Trash talk in chat paints a target on your base.
  • Streaming your exact prop live is free ESP for viewers in the same server.
  • “Truce” deals in public lobbies expire the moment an S-tier spawns.
  • Friends can bodyguard an entrance — legitimate play, unlike injected anti-theft scripts discussed on the Scripts Hub.

Progression identity

Rebirth (when you meet cash and pet goals) expands slots and long-term power. Your “build” is less a loadout and more a pet portfolio plus a prop choice. Track portfolio quality with the tier list hub and keep learning routes via the Guides Hub.

New accounts should still finish Getting Started before optimizing roles. Returning players can treat this hub as a mindset refresh after each patch.

Player skill is the real endgame: same pets, same luck clock, wildly different survival rates depending on who hits first and who picked the quieter rock.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Are there unlockable characters in Hide ur Base and Steal?

No traditional hero roster. You progress through pets, rebirth, and better secret spots. This hub focuses on controls and player habits instead of character kits.

Where do I learn the keybinds?

See the Controls page for movement, interact, TP-back, crawling, and interrupt hits on keyboard and touch.

What is the maximum players per server?

Servers are capped at six players, so every lobby is readable if you watch paths and props carefully.

How do I counter campers at my door?

Relocate your secret spot after discovery, avoid returning on the same path twice, and use hit interrupts when they enter. Details are in Protect Your Base.

Should I play with friends?

A trusted duo can guard while the other shops or steals. Just remember a duo already occupies a large share of a six-player server and will attract attention.
